Environmental Policy

Coffee only grows in the region surrounding the equator that lies between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. This means that all the coffee which is drunk in the UK is imported and has accumulated CO2 emissions on its journey from cherry to cup.

Our intention is to offset the carbon emissions which have been incurred by air freighting our Blue Mountain coffee from Jamaica to England and from transporting it around the country. We intend to support schemes which replant de-forested areas of our world.

Our concern for our environment has impacted the decisions that we have made regarding our business practices and the type of packaging that we will use to send our coffee to you. The boxes in which our coffee arrives from Jamaica are all taken to a recycling centre and the boxes that you receive your coffee in are all made from 80% recycled card board. They can be either re-used by you, recycled or composted along with the shredded paper which is used to cushion your coffee in transit.
