Do not be confused by the use of the term ‘blend’ in the labelling of this tin of coffee!

Some companies sell what they describe as a Blue Mountain blend, which might contain some authentic Blue Mountain beans, or may just be a blend of different coffees which have been roasted in an attempt to recreate the flavour of the original.

This 8oz tin of medium ground coffee is described as a blend despite the fact that Jablum uses only 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain beans in this product - 30% of the coffee beans are size 1, the remaining 70% are a combination of sizes 2 and 3.

Green beans are exported from Jamaica in sizes 1, 2 and 3 for roasting overseas but the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica only allows beans that are size 1 to be exported ready roasted under the name Blue Mountain.

This tin of 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, with a blend of bean sizes, is subjected to the same screening that all Blue Mountain coffee undergoes and is cup tasted by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica to ensure that your drink is of the same high quality that the name Blue Mountain demands.  It carries the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica’s certification to reassure you.
